July kicked off with countless events to celebrate the 250th anniversary of America – but the month still has plenty in store! Check out our guide to even more family and budget-friendly events happening in Monmouth and Ocean Counties the rest of the month.

July 9

Colts Neck | Sounds of Summer Concert Series | 7pm-8:30pm

Enjoy a free concert at Town Hall – pondside, every Thursday through August 27th from 7pm-8:30pm. The lineup includes a variety of local talent playing tunes from countless decades and genres all summer long. There is no entry fee to attend – all you’ll need to enjoy the concert is a lawn chair. This week’s performance is by The Last Whippoorwills, a bluegrass band. View the summer lineup.

July 10

Downtown Freehold | Funky Friday | 7pm-9pm

Fridays are getting Funky in Freehold – try saying that ten times fast! Enjoy the sounds of different performances at the Gazebo (10 East Main Street in Downtown Freehold) every Friday through September 25th from 7-9pm. There is no entry fee to attend. Limited seating is provided, and reservations can be made at one of the sidewalk cafes or restaurants along East Main Street. View the summer schedule.

July 11

Wall | The Historic Village at Allaire Flea Market | 8am-2pm

Whether it’s time to clean out your basement, or hunt for your next bargain – head over to the Allaire Flea Market. You can register in advance to become a vendor or shop for treasures! General admission is $5 + fees for those ages 4 and up. A general admission ticket also grants access to the historic grounds, trades, and pop-up demonstrations across the village. Purchase tickets in advance.

Jackson | Fireworks and Food Trucks | 4pm-9pm

Head over to Johnson Park if you’re in search of one last Independence Day celebration. There will be live music and DJ performances, food truck vendors, a cornhole tournament, and fireworks to end the night. There is no entry fee to attend, but there will be food available for purchase.

Freehold | Freehold Township Day | 4pm-11pm

Head over to Michael J. Tighe Park for a celebration of our community, our nation, and 250 years of American history. Enjoy a night of live entertainment, merchandise and food vendors, free kids rides and teen center, beer garden (for those 21+) and more – ending with a fireworks show at 9pm. Car enthusiasts won’t want to miss the 27th Annual Don’t Forget the Vets Car Show from 2pm-6pm. Admission is free.

Downtown Freehold | Saturday Serenade | 7pm-9pm

If a Saturday Serenade is more your style, the Gazebo (10 East Main Street in Downtown Freehold) is also hosting serenade performances every Saturday through September 26th from 7-9pm. There is no entry fee to attend. Find the list of performers playing each week.

July 12

Seaside Heights | Movies on the Beach | 9pm

The Seaside Heights Beach will become a movie theater every Sunday through August 23rd at dusk. This week’s showing is Zootopia 2. Grab some snacks from the boardwalk, settle into the sand, and enjoy a movie night like no other. There is no entry fee to attend. See the schedule of featured films each week.

July 15

Berkeley Township | Ocean County Fair | Begins at 5pm

A tradition since 1947, the Ocean County Fair is back at the Robert J. Miller Airpark from July 15th-July 19th. The five-day, action-packed celebration features 4-H showcases, live music, thrilling rides, food vendors, livestock displays, and hands on activities for all ages. Admission is $10 per person, and 4-hour ride wristbands are available on site for $45.

July 16

Howell | Movies Under the Stars | 6:30pm 

Head over to the Howell Library Hill for showings of family-friendly movies on select Thursdays this summer. Activities will begin at 6:30pm and the movies will begin at dusk. There’s no entry fee to attend – just bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and favorite movie theater snacks. The first showing will be The Goonies. See the other movie showings of the summer.

July 22

Freehold | Monmouth County Fair | Begins at 4pm

This annual favorite is returning to the East Freehold Showgrounds (Kozloski Road) through Sunday, July 26th. The fair is kicking off with a “Monmouth NJ 250 Celebration” – featuring costumed, historic interpreters and fireworks. It will feature live music and entertainment, rides, games, hands on experiences, and exhibits. Admission is $10 per person, and children 12 and under get in free. Ride wristbands, food, and beverages will be available for purchase.

July 25

Oceanport | Italian Festival & Wine Tasting | 11am-5pm

Embark on a tour of Italy without leaving the Jersey Shore at Monmouth Park Racetrack on July 25th and July 26th. Pair your favorite Italian dish from one of the dozen local favorites with a sampling of great wines (for those 21+) – all while listening to live music from 12pm-4pm. Live racing begins at 12:50pm. General admission is $6, with children 12 and under free to attend. Wine sampling tickets are $20 for 5-two ounce samples in advance.

July 31

Lacey | Sunflower Festival | 3pm-8pm

Come for the sunflowers and stay for the live music, tasty treats, and more at Argos Farm – every Friday to Sunday through August 23rd. Take a stroll through the sunflower fields during a picture perfect time of day, gather flowers for your next centerpiece, enjoy live music from 4pm-7pm, try fun farm attractions, and more. Pricing will become available on July 20th.

Highlands | Clamfest | Begins at 6pm

This beloved Jersey Shore tradition is back from July 31st through August 2nd at Huddy Park. From a mouthwatering array of food trucks and festival favorites (if you’re thinking funnel cake, you’d be right), to live performances and a lively Beer, Wine, and Sangria garden (for those 21+) – there’s something for everyone. There will be a fireworks display on Saturday, August 1st at 10pm. There is no entry fee to attend, but there will be food and beverages available for purchase.

Summer is more than just a season at the Jersey Shore; it’s a feeling – and one you can experience without shattering your budget. Check out these affordable family-friendly activities to welcome summer in Monmouth and Ocean Counties this June.

June 4

Bayshore Greek Fest (Holmdel) – Bayshore Greek Fest is back from Thursday, June 4th through Sunday, June 7th during various times at 20 Hillcrest Road (Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church). You ‘feta’ not miss out on the authentic eats (be sure to come with an appetite), traditional music and dance performances, and cultural items at the flea market and vendor booths. There will also be tours of the church, games and rides, and other fun family activities. Admission is $2 per person or $5 per family, and there will be additional items available for purchase. June 5

Boat Tours of the Manasquan Reservoir (Howell) – Set sail on the Manasquan Reservoir at 6pm and 7pm from the Visitor Center (311 Windeler Road). These 45-minute tours are narrated and include chances to see the unique wildlife that call the reservoir home. Tickets are $6 per adult and $4 per child ages 12 and under. Children must be 2 years or older and able to sit independently during the entire tour to attend. Tickets can be purchased on the day of the tour only. Toms River Book Show – Are you looking for your next page-turner? Come meet two dozen authors who might be selling your next favorite read, from 6pm-9pm in the Toms River Artist Community Gallery. There is no entry fee to attend, but books will be available for purchase. Learn more.

June 6

Summerfest ’26 (Point Pleasant) – Start summer off right (albeit a couple of weeks early) in Point Pleasant Community Park from 11am-7pm. There will be live music, a kids’ inflatables and activity area, craft vendors, food trucks, and a Wine & Beer Garden (for those 21+). There is no entry fee to attend, but a Kids Activity Wristband is $10 and there will be items available for purchase. Find out more.

June 7

Juneteenth Celebration (Freehold) – Head over to Main Street in Downtown Freehold between 12pm-5pm for a Juneteenth Celebration. You can enjoy tasty bites, shop items from local vendors, and listen to live entertainment. There is no entry fee to attend. Click for more information.

AsburyFest (Asbury Park) – Head over to the park across from Convention Hall to enjoy all things Asbury Park from Friday, June 12th through Sunday, June 14th at various times. There will be food, drinks, and crafts available for purchase from local vendors – as well as live music to enjoy as you explore. Admission is $5 per person on Saturday and Sunday, and children ages 6 and under are free. Learn more.

Feel Good Fest (Toms River) – You’ll leave feeling better than you came at Brew Grounds Café, with “feel good” vibes going from 4pm-8pm. From a car show and farmer’s market chockful of fresh produce, to food trucks, yoga and wellness stations – there is truly something for everyone. Baby Animal Fest (Lacey) – Enjoy adorable encounters with the baby animals of Argos Farm on weekends, through June 28th. There will also be live music, family activities like an obstacle course and giant Connect Four game, yummy treats, summer photo opportunities, and blueberry picking (while supplies last). Brick Convention LEGO® Fan Event (Freehold) – The greatest LEGO® fan event on Earth is coming to Warehouse 110 on June 20th and June 21st (a perfect Father’s Day activity if any of the dads in your life are LEGO® enthusiasts)! There is lots to do and see including largescale displays, meet and greets with LEGO® Masters, traders selling loose bricks, new and retired sets, a dedicated construction zone, and more. Middletown Arts Center Annual Arts & Crafts Festival is back from 10am-4pm! Over 75 local artisans will be displaying their handmade creations – such as paintings, photographs, jewelry, home décor, clothing, and candles. Father’s Day at the Track (Oceanport) – Father’s Day is off to the races at Monmouth Park from 12pm-5pm. Enjoy a day of family-fun activities like thrilling live horse races beginning at 12:50pm, games, and various dining options and concession stands. There is no cost for gentlemen to enter, and they will also get a chance to win Lynyrd Skynyrd concert tickets at PNC Bank Arts Center. General admission is $7 for the rest of the family, and there is no cost for children under 12. Learn more.

Rods, Reels, and Wrenches (Cream Ridge) – Head over to the New Egypt Flea Market Village with the dads in your life for a day of things they love, from 8am-4pm. Saint Mary’s Great Fair (Middletown) – Mark your calendars for six nights of family-friendly fun at Saint Mary’s Church, through June 27th at 6pm-10pm each night. There will be activities for the whole family to enjoy, such as classic carnival rides, boardwalk-style games, a wide array of tasty bites, a beer garden (for those 21+), and more. Movies on the Beach (Point Pleasant Beach) – Enjoy weekly installments of Movies on the Beach right in the sand in front of Jenkinson’s Aquarium, beginning at sundown every Tuesday through August 11th. Each week will bring a different family-friendly movie that’s sure to put a smile on everyone’s face. The first movie showing is Lilo and Stitch (2025). June 28

America’s Big Birthday Parade (Middletown) – You won’t want to miss America’s Big Birthday Parade – beginning at 12:30pm at the Middletown Train Station. After the parade, the celebrations continue with a Family Festival at Mater Dei Park. Enjoy live entertainment, rides and attractions for all ages, food trucks, and more. Cinco de Mayo Celebration (Toms River) – Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Downtown Toms River on Washington Street from 12pm-6pm. Memorial Day Weekend Parade & Festival (Bradley Beach) – Celebrate Memorial Day and honor all those who have served our country all weekend long at the Bradley Beach Memorial Day Parade & Festival. Kick off the weekend by finding a spot along Ocean Avenue to watch the parade, beginning at 10am. The rest of the weekend will be packed with live performances from bands and artists, a vendor fair, and delicious eats from local restaurants. Memorial Day Celebration (Lacey) – Celebrate Memorial Day at the Lacey Elks Lodge from “9am-whenever!” There will be live performances by two of the area’s high-energy party bands, food trucks, vendors, and family-fun activities. Memorial Day Parade (Freehold Borough) – Celebrate Memorial Day the oldest and biggest way in Western Monmouth County at Freehold Borough’s Memorial Day Parade from 10am-2pm. Over 70 military units, veteran groups, fire departments, EMS squads, youth groups, bands, and custom designed floats – will begin their march from the corner of Brinkerhoff Avenue and Main Street. The parade will zip through town, with plenty of viewing spots to enjoy the entertainment with family and friends. Admission is free for all who attend. Memorial Day Parade (Farmingdale) – The town of Farmingdale will celebrate its 53rd annual Memorial Day Parade beginning at 2pm along Main Street. This year’s parade will also feature a special celebration of the 250th Anniversary of American Independence, as well as a pie baking contest and a photo contest. Jersey Shore Greek Festival (Ocean Township) – Get a taste of Greece with no passport needed at the at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, running from Friday, May 29th through Sunday, May 31st at various times. BBQ, Beer, and Boots (Point Pleasant Beach) – Kick off the summer season with a backyard-style BBQ and beer festival with a country twist at the Point Pleasant Beach Municipal Lot from 12pm-4pm. There will be live country music, incredible food, cold beer (ages 21+), family-friendly games, and good vibes that will leave you saying “yee-haw!” You can also saddle up and put your skills to the test with mechanical bull rides – hang on tight! Guided Fossil Hunts (Middletown) – Calling all amateur paleontologists! Dig up remnants of Earth’s ancient past (we’re talking 65-72 million years ago ancient) at the Poricy Brook Fossil Beds from 11am-12pm. Your experienced guide will walk you through a brief orientation before you hit the fossil beds with your trowel and sifter, and help you identify treasures along the way. April 4

Brunch with the Bunny (Manahawkin) – The Easter Bunny is fueling up with a pre-Easter Brunch at Dolce Liberta and he’s inviting you to join, from 11am-12:30pm or 1pm-2:30pm. Enjoy a family-fun outing with a delicious meal, unlimited pictures with the Easter Bunny, and crafts for the kiddos. Arrowhead Farm’s Dino Fest is teeming with life-size dinosaurs every Thursday through Sunday from April 9th through May 3rd. There will be live dinosaur entertainment, interactive exhibits such as a dino dig site, photo ops, and more. Plus, your admission ticket gives you full access to the farm’s tulip field (u-pick tulips are $1/stem). Admission is $28 per person for those ages 2 and up, and can be purchased online in advance. Spring Fling & America’s 250th Anniversary (Howell) – Get a head start on celebrating America’s 250th birthday with festivities at Soldier Memorial Park from 12pm-4pm. This free event is bringing the community together to enjoy delicious food trucks, rides and activities for kids, face painting, a petting zoo, live music, and more. Yoga at Popcorn Park Animal Refuge (Forked River) – Unroll your mat and join a yoga session surrounded by serene nature and captivating animals, beginning at 9am. This one-hour session combines the benefits of yoga with the power of peaceful nature and wildlife for the mind and body. The class is suitable for all experience levels. Spring Disco & Night Market (Asbury Park) – Head over to Asbury Park’s Convention Hall from 6pm-11pm for a groovy night! Expect disco-fueled dance floors, delicious local eats, themed cocktails, a carefully curated night market, photo ops that will make it look like you time traveled to the 70s, and more – all under one roof! The event is only for those 21+, allowing attendees to explore any of the multiple on-site bars. April 18

Town Wide Garage Sale (Hazlet) – Clear your calendar, and your trunk – the Hazlet Town Wide Garage Sale is back from 9am-4pm! The number of residents registered to showcase their unique items is at 35 and still climbing. You can get a sneak peak of the registered participants and the items they plan to have for sale using this interactive Google Map. The list may change up to the first hour of the sale, as participants join or cancel. There is a rain date of April 19th.

April 25

Cattus Island Nature Festival (Toms River) – The great outdoors is calling at Cattus Island from 10am-3pm! Spend the afternoon exploring nature with experiences like fishing, getting out on the water on a kayaking tour, learning about local wildlife, joining in on crafts and games, and more. EarthFest (Tinton Falls) – Head over to Sycamore Park from 11am-2pm if you’re looking for a down-to-Earth way to spend your weekend! EarthFest is bringing the community together to make a positive impact locally with park trail cleanup, interactive educational activities, chances for youngsters to participate in Earth Day trivia to win prizes, and more. March 7

Ocean County St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Seaside Heights) – Join the Annual Ocean County St. Patrick’s Day Parade, beginning at 12pm on the Boulevard. Various local businesses, teams, and community organizations will march and celebrate Irish heritage in the parade. Irish Week Pub Crawl (Freehold) – If a bar crawl is more your speed and you’re over 21, the Downtown Freehold Irish Week celebrations continue with a Pub Crawl from 8pm-10pm. Maple Syrup Festival (Manalapan) – Happy Day Farm is giving visitors a glimpse into the maple sugaring season in one, sap-packed day on select dates and times  throughout the month (tours begin at 10am and the last session of the day starts at 1:45pm). This outdoor experience is filled with demonstrations that display how sap becomes pancake-ready maple syrup and how you can identify maple trees to tap on your own. Easter Bunny Pictures (Brick) – Hop on over to Icarus Brewing to welcome spring by taking family photos with the Easter Bunny from 12:30pm-2:30pm. A photographer will snap your picture, and digital copies will be emailed directly to you. The proceeds benefit Pitties and Pals Rescue, who will also have some of their adoptable dogs on site. St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Freehold) – Downtown Freehold’s Irish Week concludes with the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, kicking off at 12:30pm.
