Bank Transfer Day – A Recap [with Photos]

We had a successful Bank Transfer Day on November 5th. The parking lots were filled and we want to thank all of those again who made the switch to First Financial!

Those who made the switch on November 5th enjoyed picking prizes out of a grab bag in each branch to win various Visa Gift Card amounts and additional t-shirts, as well as one lucky new member (Carlos of Ocean Twp, pictured below) who provided a testimonial on First Financial’s social media sites and online survey – won a $75 Visa Gift Card.  All new First Financial members who made the switch on Saturday (and throughout November), will get a coupon to receive .15% off a future loan with First Financial and a free “Intentionally Left Bank” t-shirt.

First Financial Prepares for Bank Transfer Day

As thousands prepare to make the move to a credit union on Bank Transfer Day, First Financial is gearing up for the expected extra traffic in each of its 5 branches.

The first order of business is that Chief Operating Officer, Alice Stevens, and her team have extended branch hours and scheduled extra staff. First Financial will be open from 9am to 4pm on November 5th, Bank Transfer Day.

“We are excited and honored to be part of this huge credit union movement. To assure everything runs smoothly, we have extended our hours and scheduled extra staff to work,” Stevens said.

Current members are encouraged to take advantage of the credit union’s Tell a Friend Program, where they’ll get $25 for each friend they refer who opens a First Financial account.

“It’s a great way to reward our current members who already have accounts with us. The more friends or family they refer who open accounts, the more they’ll be rewarded. It’s a win-win situation for all, and first-hand experience with the way banking should be done,” Stevens said.

First Financial is accepting new members (those who live, work, worship, or attend school in Monmouth or Ocean Counties) who are interested in opening up checking and savings accounts, loans, and more.Visit First Financial’s website for a complete listing of products and services or to open an accountonline.

Stevens also said that First Financial is especially proud to offer free checking and does not charge members fees to use their debit cards. She understands the state of the economy and believes that saving money wherever possible is important.

Additionally, to further encourage people to make the move to First Financial, qualifying members who go into a branch and open a new membership beginning November 5th 2011 and ending November 30th 2011 will be given a coupon to receive an additional .15% off their APR* for new approved loans. And, on Bank Transfer Day only, there will be an opportunity for attendees to spin the prize wheel or pick a coupon out of the bag to win prizes in the form of VISA® gift cards and t-shirts when they make the move from their bank.
