Saturday, Dec.1st – Sunday, Dec. 9th: Join the famous miser, Ebenezer Scrooge, on his magical journey of redemption as ghosts from the past, present and future visit him on Christmas Eve based on Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol.” Held at the Algoquin Arts Theatre, you can purchase your tickets online for a varitey of dates and times.
Saturday, Dec. 1st: Enjoy a different, unique and fun way to shop for the holidays at the Boardwalk Holiday Giftacular! Enjoy aisles of unique gifts from independent merchants and businesses from Asbury Park and the surrounding areas. Also, enjoy seasonal music, delicious cider and egg nog, a huge 30 foot tree decorated from the ground up and so much more! Stay after the Giftacular for the 3rd Annual Ugly Sweater Party! Both events are free and are located at 1300 Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park.
Sunday, Dec. 2nd: While you and your family are dining at Spring Lakes first annual “A Very Merry Broadway Brunch” event, you can all enjoy carols and performances, festive raffles, decorated trees and photos with Santa! It wouldn’t be Christmas without breakfast with Santa! The event will be hosted by the Shrewsbury Hose Company & the Ladies Auxiliary. Located at 783 Broad Street, Shrewsbury from 9am-12pm. Admission is only $7 and children under 2 are free! Make sure your kids are extra “nice” and bring their Christmas lists. Pictures with Santa will also be available!
Monday, Dec. 3rd: Get ready to cake, bake and roll in this hands-on class taught by professional decorators from the NJ Sugar Art Academy, teens will learn the proper way to frost and decorate a butter cream cake. Perfect timing to help with all the holiday baking and you’ll even get to bring home the cake that you decorated! This program is for teens in the 6th grade and up. Thursday, Dec. 6th: Join decorative artist Julie Farel, as she shares her love of painting while introducing the joy and fun “pen & paint” technique. Sign up for this hands-on, arts & crafts event where participants have the opportunity to complete an artistic card, just in time for holiday giving. Please wear comfortable “paintable” clothing and all supplies are provided. This class is free, but as class size is limited, registration is required. Saturday, Dec. 8th – Sunday, Dec. 9th: Every holiday season for the past 27 years, the Company of Dance Arts brings the magic of The Nutcracker to life! Enjoy a night out at the Count Baise Theater in Red Bank where you can complete the night with a dinner package at Pazzo Restaurant. Buy tickets online or at the box office.
Saturday, Dec. 15th: Join the fundraising efforts to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy and also help those unfortunate children who could use a Christmas toy gift.
